About The Position

Allen Correctional Center is seeking a motivated and energetic individual to serve as a Corrections Lieutenant Colonel. This position is a key supervisory role responsible for directing overall institutional operations, supervising personnel, and enforcing safety and administrative standards. Leads daily facility operations, oversees shift coverage, manages post orders, and ensures overall operational readiness.

Requirements

Four years of experience in a correctional, behavioral, or penal institution with responsibility for the security, custody, rehabilitation, or classification of offenders, or in law enforcement or security plus one of the following: 1. Possession of a high school diploma or GED; OR 2. One year of experience in any field; OR 3. Six months of law enforcement experience as a POST certified peace officer.
One year of this experience must have been in a position equivalent in scope of responsibility or complexity of work performed to a Corrections Captain in State service.
An applicant who has been convicted of a misdemeanor crime of domestic violence or a felony, or who is under indictment on a felony charge will be disqualified until relief from the disabilities imposed by state and federal laws is granted.
An applicant who has been found to have engaged in any form of sexual abuse; engaged in sexual activity in the community facilitated by force, overt or implied threats of force, or coercion, or if the victim did not consent or was unable or refused will be disqualified.
Applicants must be at least 18 years of age.
Possession of a current driver's license.

Responsibilities

Serves as Weekend Duty Officer for the entire prison on a rotating basis.
Directs shift supervisors, approves schedules, mentors security personnel, and acts as a response team leader during critical incidents.
Assists the Corrections Colonel with unit management, enforces institutional regulations, reviews logbooks, and mandates unannounced searches and safety checks.
