Under general supervision, the Corrections Food Service Officer oversees and participates in the preparation of nutritionally balanced meals in accordance with safety and sanitary procedures. This role involves training and instructing inmates in meal production, safe food handling, and kitchen sanitation, while also supervising and implementing corrective actions. The officer is responsible for overseeing tray, snack, and menu meal production and transport, managing special diet configurations, and verifying daily inventory. They will use a system computer to review and update special diet orders, print labels, and track inmate movement within the jail using the Offender Management System (OMS). The position requires demonstrating the County PRIDE philosophy through actions and performing related duties as assigned.
