This position guides inmate workers in daily food service operations and teaches essential vocational skills for food production and preparation. As a Corrections Food Service Instructor, you will perform the following duties: Food Service Instruction: Teach inmates how to prepare, produce, serve, and bake food while following safe and sanitary practices Safety Oversight: Inspect food areas, tools, equipment, and products to ensure they meet required safety and sanitation standards Supply Management: Review census and menu information, adjust recipes, recycle leftover food, and manage food and supply inventories Work Assignment Planning: Plan inmate work tasks, evaluate performance, and maintain all required inmate worker records Care and Custody: Maintain care and control over inmates during work assignments and exercise physical intervention if necessary.
