About The Position

As a Corrections Facility Security Officer - Badge Control in Greenville, SC, you will serve and safeguard clients at a government corrections location as an unarmed patrol officer. The role involves routine patrols, maintaining a visible presence to help deter incidents, reporting security-related concerns, and providing professional customer service and clear communication. This is a driving post requiring a valid driver’s license. The position is full-time and pays $17.00 per hour. The schedule is Friday through Sunday, 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM.

Requirements

• A valid driver’s license in the state where the job is located; required for this driving position.
• At least 18 years of age for an unarmed role.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
• Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Meet applicable state and/or local licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.

Nice To Haves

• A state-, county-, or city-issued security-related license is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to facility staff, visitors, and authorized personnel while following security procedures, site-specific policies, and applicable emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed foot and/or vehicle patrols of buildings, grounds, access points, and perimeter areas to identify unusual conditions and help deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor and control access to assigned areas by verifying credentials, documenting visitor entry and exit, and reporting access concerns in accordance with site-specific procedures.
• Respond calmly to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations, contacting appropriate site personnel and/or emergency services when directed.
• Prepare accurate written reports and maintain required logs concerning patrols, incidents, access activity, and other security-related observations.
• Report security-related concerns and maintain a visible security presence.
