Dixon Correctional Institute is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Corrections ARDC Specialist to join our team. This position plays a vital role in supporting offender management by reviewing, validating, and updating Assessment, Reclassification, and Custody (ARDC) data to ensure accuracy, compliance, and adherence to Department of Corrections policies. The Corrections ARDC Specialist works closely with institutional leadership, classification staff, and security personnel to maintain timely offender records, process classification decisions, and support institutional safety and operational efficiency. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong analytical skills, sound judgment, effective communication, and a commitment to upholding professional standards in a correctional environment. Qualified applicants should be motivated, organized, and eager to contribute to the mission of DCI by supporting accurate offender classification and promoting safe, secure, and humane operations.

Requirements

  • Three years of experience in offender records analysis, offender classification, offender pre-classification, security, or social services or as a probation or parole officer; OR Six years of full-time work experience in any field; OR A bachelor’s degree.
  • Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.

Responsibilities

  • Review, verify, and update offender ARDC (Assessment, Reclassification, and Custody) data.
  • Process classification actions and ensure compliance with DOC policies and procedures.
  • Maintain accurate offender records and documentation.
  • Coordinate with classification staff and security personnel regarding custody levels and housing decisions.
  • Assist in preparing reports, audits, and required institutional documentation.
