About The Position

This open competitive advertisement is for a Career Service position located at Region 1 Office in the Office of Programs and Re-Entry department. The Correctional Services Consultant builds and sustains Second Chance Employer partnerships through strategic outreach and collaborative workforce initiatives, connecting reintegrating individuals with meaningful employment. By engaging employers and partners, we drive impactful hiring events and track outcomes to strengthen Florida’s workforce. This position is not a telework position and is required to report to the FDC office in the area it serves.

Requirements

  • Must possess a high school diploma or its equivalent.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.
  • Must be willing to travel throughout the assigned region and statewide or overnight as required.
  • Must be computer literate and proficient with Microsoft programs including excel, with strong documentation and recordkeeping skills.
  • Must possess strong written, verbal, organizational, and interpersonal communication skills, and be able to clearly and accurately convey complex program information to diverse audiences, including employers, community partners, and internal stakeholders.
  • Must be able to independently organize, prioritize, and manage multiple assignments.

Responsibilities

  • Recruit and maintain Second Chance Employer partnerships through outreach, visits, and ongoing management, serving as the primary relationship manager and handling lead handoffs.
  • Recruit employers for hiring events and pre-release opportunities, conduct follow-ups, and document outcomes for each employer contact.
  • Present approved content to external groups about hiring reintegrating populations and build relationships with workforce and community partners.
  • Communicate regularly with internal staff and leadership, share employer information, and develop strategic employer engagement plans based on workforce needs and labor market trends.
  • Maintain accurate records, submit reports, represent FDC at events, and track job placement outcomes to refine engagement strategies.
