Requirements

  • No pending discipline and no formal discipline within the last 12 months
  • Current Arizona driver's license appropriate to the assignment
  • Employees must currently be a Correctional Sergeant with the Arizona Department of Corrections, Rehabilitation and Reentry
  • Have worked a minimum of 12 months at the current division/institution by the close date of the announcement
  • Received at least a meets expectations overall rating on their most recent performance evaluation
  • Employees who drive on state business are subject to driver's license record checks, must maintain acceptable driving records, and must complete any required driver training
  • All newly hired State employees are subject to and must successfully complete the Electronic Employment Eligibility Verification Program (E-Verify)

Nice To Haves

  • Prior customer service and recruitment experience
  • Complete employee engagement prior to the interview for 1-4 hours
  • One (1) year minimum Sergeant experience
  • Public speaking, oral presentation, customer service, and computer experience
  • A minimum of 12 months of experience as a Correctional Sergeant with the Arizona Department of Corrections, Rehabilitation & Reentry

Responsibilities

  • Conducts recruitment activities statewide, e.g. Attends and participates in job fairs, recruitment seminars, and community visits
  • Attends oral presentations
  • Coordinates with various resource centers
  • Addresses community organizations
  • Communicates orally and in writing to applicants concerning their status in the hiring process
  • Assists applicants in completing the hiring process and documents issues in the applicant tracking system
  • Conducts Evaluation Centers, e.g. Prepares testing materials, gives oral instructions, administers written tests, and scores written tests
  • Administers written psychological tests
  • Makes job offers for new hires and rehire
