About The Position

This position is located at Rutherford Correctional Center in Rutherford County, NC. Rutherford Correctional Center is a 236-bed minimum custody prison with approximately 54 staff. Work in this class involves first-line supervision to Correctional Officer’s in a minimum -custody facility, increasing the custody and security coverage. Position reports to Associate Warden.

Requirements

• Meet Criminal Justice Standards requirements (12 NCAC 09G .0302)
• Pass a criminal background check
• Produce a negative drug screening result
• Successfully complete medical and psychological evaluations
• Possess a valid driver’s license
• High School or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and two years of experience as a correctional officer; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must be eligible for certification by the North Carolina Criminal Justice Education & Training Standards Commission.
