The Central Mail & Property Officer (Correctional Officer II) is responsible for the secure and efficient handling of inmate mail and personal property before the distribution to the prison complexes. This position ensures compliance with policies and security protocols by inspecting, processing, and documenting all incoming and outgoing correspondence and property. The officer plays a key role in preventing the introduction of contraband, maintaining accurate records, and safeguarding inmate belongings. The role requires strong attention to detail, adherence to confidentiality standards, and coordination with correctional staff to support complex operations and safety. Employees must currently be a Correctional Officer II with the Arizona Department of Corrections, Rehabilitation and Reentry with a minimum of 6 months of experience working in mail and property at their current institution, and have completed original probation.
