Responsible for teaching courses and labs in the Manufacturing Skills Certificate program. This role involves preparing recommendations for textbooks and equipment, teaching assigned classes, and developing course guides. The instructor will also manage purchase order requests for instructional materials, maintain attendance and grade records, and participate in staff meetings and training. A key aspect of the role is being present at the worksite for 37.5 hours per week, arriving before the shift and being in the classroom before class time. The instructor will serve on college committees, consider student needs by using diverse teaching strategies, and uphold college regulations. Professional conduct, teamwork, and a commitment to student retention and current teaching methods are essential. Specific duties include maintaining inventory and control of hazardous materials and tools, preparing required reports, supervising students, assisting during emergencies, and complying with Illinois Department of Corrections or Juvenile Justice regulations. Equipment and key control are also part of the responsibilities.
