About The Position
We are seeking an experienced Correctional Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide essential healthcare services within a secure correctional environment. The LPN will deliver direct patient care, maintain safety and compliance standards, and support overall medical operations while working under the supervision of healthcare leadership.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of correctional LPN experience
- Active Arizona LPN License
- BLS Certification (American Heart Association)
- Valid Driver’s License
- Graduate of an accredited Practical Nursing program
Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care and monitor inmate/resident health status
- Observe, document, and report behavioral and medical changes
- Maintain strict confidentiality and security of medical records
- Assist in evaluating healthcare services to ensure efficiency and avoid duplication
- Inspect medical units for contraband risks and ensure proper storage of supplies
- Prepare and maintain reports, logs, and medical documentation accurately
- Interpret medical instructions, legal documents, and regulatory requirements
- Respond to medical-related legal matters, including chart reviews and documentation
- Communicate effectively with staff, administration, and inmates/residents
- Assist in maintaining a safe environment and reporting incidents or hazards
- Support emergency response and unusual incident management
- Coordinate and escort inmates/residents for medical care as required
- Participate in investigations and documentation processes when needed
- Perform security checks in designated areas as required
