About The Position

This position is located at Eastern Correctional Institution. Duties include data entry, data collection, and making and reporting clinical impressions of inmates during assessments or daily activities on the Residential Mental Health or Infirmary Unit. This position may assist in group or individual supportive counseling in groups such as arts and crafts, leisure activities, horticulture, and quilting. This position may be responsible for monitoring, maintaining, and inventorying supplies used for programming. The employee may set up testing situations in the diagnostic center and monitor inmates as they work on treatment goals and may also assist in aftercare planning under the direction of a clinical social worker. The employee's supportive counseling role includes using crisis intervention techniques and referring to treatment staff as required.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in psychology or other human services field from an appropriately accredited institution with several classes in psychology, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
At least one year administering and/or conducting psychological testing (for positions recruited specifically for diagnostics).
