This position is responsible for performing computerized double-entry bookkeeping tasks for an assigned Corps and CSRC, requiring continued compliance with standards unique to the CSRC Program. It involves multiple and varied programs and separate sets of books, necessitating intermediate knowledge of fund accounting principles and practices, and an understanding of the varied programs' unique needs to properly record and maintain fiscal records and financial data. The role applies fundamental bookkeeping knowledge and skills to tasks such as posting, checking entries, issuing checks, balancing accounts, and preparing financial reports. The Corps Accountant ensures financial records are accurate, complete, and timely, maintaining the integrity, security, and accountability of Salvation Army financial accounts. This role also keeps the Commanding Officer and local Advisory Board informed of the financial condition of the local unit, providing recommendations for potential issues. Additionally, it serves as a liaison to Divisional Headquarters, ensuring accurate and complete submission of financial data and reports according to their standards and schedules.
