About The Position

Dunavant Enterprises, Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Part-Time Corporate Tax Specialist to support its corporate tax and accounting functions. This position is ideal for a tax professional who enjoys working in a collaborative environment and wants a flexible, part-time opportunity while applying their expertise in corporate tax compliance, reporting, and research. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local tax requirements while supporting tax planning initiatives and helping minimize organizational tax risk.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of corporate tax experience.
  • Active CPA designation required.
  • Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws and filing requirements.
  • Experience with tax account reconciliations and tax compliance processes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, and Adobe products.

  • Experience with intercompany accounting transactions.
  • Experience using Wolters Kluwer/CCH ProSystemfx software.
  • Strong business acumen and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the preparation and review of federal, state, and local corporate tax returns.
  • Prepare, process, and maintain tax and accounting documentation throughout the accounting cycle.
  • Manage quarterly estimated tax payments and ensure timely tax filings.
  • Maintain tax workpapers, supporting schedules, and documentation.
  • Reconcile tax accounts and support month-end and year-end close activities.
  • Research federal and state tax law changes and evaluate their impact on the business.
  • Assist with responses to tax notices, audits, and inquiries.
  • Support tax implications related to corporate restructuring, acquisitions, mergers, and other transactions.
  • Review investment activity, perform reconciliations, and prepare related journal entries.
  • Conduct tax compliance research at local, state, and federal levels.
  • Collaborate with Finance, Accounting, Legal, and external advisors on tax-related matters.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
