About The Position

A career within our Corporate Tax group will provide you with the opportunity to help our clients meet their tax obligations while managing the impact tax has on their business. You’ll advise clients on their local and overseas tax affairs, while acting as a strategic consultant related to business analysis, managing working capital, and profit sharing for partners. You’ll also help organizations understand the pricing implications of goods and services between related parties, as well as providing advice on tax implications of deals. Our team helps our clients improve their tax function to control risk and facilitate better decision making. You’ll focus on helping businesses with tax strategy, ensuring tax compliance, increasing post tax profits, and providing application support to achieve the best corporate tax practices. Your role will include, but isn’t limited to: Advise clients on local and international tax affairs, acting as a strategic consultant for business analysis, managing working capital, and profit sharing Help organizations understand the pricing implications of goods and services between related parties and provide advice on tax implications of deals Improve clients' tax functions to control risk and facilitate better decision-making Focus on tax strategy, ensuring compliance, increasing post-tax profits, and providing application support for best corporate tax practices Work directly with a wide variety of public and private clients across multiple industries and jurisdictions to provide distinctive client service Manage the client service team on a portfolio of clients, including budgeting, engagement letters, resource and work allocation, and billing Develop new skills outside of comfort zone and act to resolve issues preventing effective teamwork Coach others, recognize their strengths, and encourage them to take ownership of their personal development Analyze complex ideas or proposals and build a range of meaningful recommendations using multiple sources of information Uphold the firm's code of ethics and business conduct, focusing on building trusted relationships internally and with clients

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting and a qualified CPA designation
  • Prior experience with Canadian corporate tax in a public accounting environment
  • Strong technical background and broad-based tax skills including provisions and partnership and trust planning
  • A proven leader with strong business development and entrepreneurial skills who possesses exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong analytical capability, sound business sense, and a creative mind that has earned you the reputation of providing excellence in client service
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple assignments in an organized manner
  • Ability to manage, develop, retain, and mentor junior tax professionals
  • Strong organizational skills and a positive attitude when working under pressure
  • Interact in a personable manner, with the ability to build and lead teams, including the coordination of both local and global subject matter experts, with an eye for managing the client’s experience

Nice To Haves

  • Completion or near completion of the CPA In-depth Tax Course or Master of Taxation (MTax) program is an asset
