About The Position

The Structurer is a strategic professional who stays abreast of developments within their field and contributes to directional strategy by considering their application in their job and the business. This role is recognized as a technical authority within an area of the business and requires commercial awareness. The position typically involves multiple individuals within the business who provide the same level of subject matter expertise. Developed communication and diplomacy skills are required to guide, influence, and convince others, particularly colleagues in other areas and occasional external customers. The role has a significant impact on its area through complex deliverables and provides advice and counsel related to the technology or operations of the business. The work impacts an entire area, which eventually affects the overall performance and effectiveness of the sub-function/job family. The role will focus on Fixed Income structuring for Corporate Clients, with a particular emphasis on the pricing and structuring of interest rate derivative products. This requires consideration of overall client objectives, appropriateness, market risk/counterparty credit risk, funding/capital impacts, and Citi’s own risk appetite. The candidate will need a strong technical background and a full understanding of the features, risks, and applications of complex derivative products. The candidate will demonstrate the ability to understand client needs, recognize commercial opportunities, and help drive the prioritization and development of new payoffs or trade ideas in close partnership with sales and trading partners, in coordination with the broader fixed income structuring team.

Requirements

  • 6-12 years structuring experience from a financial institution
  • Demonstrated quantitative and analytical skills
  • Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work with multiple functional groups in a cohesive manner.

Responsibilities

  • Pricing and developing innovative financial solutions for corporate clients.
  • Focusing on corporate derivative activity, understanding market trends and identifying opportunities.
  • Driving initiatives to allow Citi to develop and deliver new products/payoffs, and guiding through the appropriate approval processes.
  • Modelling Payoffs, and running and assessing Risk and P&L impact.
  • Creating customized back tests and analysis.
  • Participating in pre-trade & post-sales efforts, closely working with dedicated institutional sales.
  • Marketing presentations and participation in meetings.
  • Working in close partnership with control functions such as Legal, Compliance, Market and Credit Risk, Audit, Finance to ensure appropriate governance and control infrastructure.
  • Building a culture of responsible finance, good governance and supervision, expense discipline and ethics.
  • Appropriately assessing risk/reward of transactions when making business decisions and ensuring that all team members understand the need to do the same, demonstrating proper consideration for the firm’s reputation.
  • Being familiar with and adhering to Citi’s Code of Conduct and the Plan of Supervision for Global Markets and Securities Services; and ensuring that all team members understand the need to do the same.
  • Adhering to all policies and procedures as defined by your role which will be communicated to you.
  • Obtaining and maintaining all registrations/licenses which are required for your role, within the appropriate timeframe.
  • Appropriately assessing risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
