They aim to foster a balanced and flexible culture beneficial to both customers and employees. This is a temporary, full-time position expected to last until February 28, 2028.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years’ experience as a retail manager
  • 3-5 years’ experience supervising and/or leading people
  • 3-5 years’ experience working in a retail environment
  • 3-5 years’ experience servicing and resolving customer concerns
  • Understanding of business management fundamentals
  • Must be able to lift 50lbs or more as required by the business
  • Must have both POS and cash handling experience

  • Food Retail experience is an asset
  • Post-secondary certificate in business or related field an asset

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with customer service standards, operating policies and procedures, and applicable provincial and federal legislation, in collaboration with the District Manager and store team.
  • Lead the store in achieving operating efficiencies, revenue goals, profitability, and customer satisfaction, working with the District Managers and Store Staff.
  • Oversee the sourcing, hiring, training, and development of the store team.
  • Communicate professionally, timely, thoroughly, and proactively with consistency to all store teams.
  • Deliver friendly and productive customer communications to encourage repeat business, customer satisfaction, and increased sales.
  • Address underperformance formally with clear, documented performance improvement plans.
  • Formally recognize strong performers within the assigned region.
  • Manage the store team in compliance with operational, legislative, and Human Resources operating policies and procedures.
  • Resolve issues proactively or as they arise with store staff, and report unresolved issues to the District Manager for support.
  • Ensure the store team performs their jobs to Company standards and holds them accountable for non-compliance.
  • Prepare and deliver the daily deposit to the nearest TD Bank.
  • Understand the customer by interacting on the sales floor, observing shopping behaviors, and the associate/customer experience.
  • Understand and administer operational and HR policies and procedures, ensuring consistent compliance among all store team members.
  • Understand and effectively apply operational requirements and reports to assist in daily store operations.
  • Maintain a good understanding of the business, competitors, and how to leverage current assets in the surrounding market for long-term success.
  • Set high expectations for excellent customer service and hold store team members accountable for measurable results.
  • Ensure stores are maintained from closing to opening, with clear associate floor plans and management throughout the day to maintain visual/merchandising standards and an outstanding customer engagement culture.
  • Work with store team members to ensure the store merchandising environment is a point of differentiation, aiming to excite customers about the uniqueness of the offering, inspire possibilities, bring products to life, and inspire needs that lead to a WOW marketing benefit.
  • Drive business success through effective use of internal reports, retail results assessments, and the development, implementation, and monitoring of SMART Goals (action plans) focused on team member skills development, profitability, sales growth, and customer satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with the District Manager in developing retail sales goals and action plans tied to measurable results and timely, consistent execution.
  • Manage labor and vacation scheduling to budgeted models, considering both hours and the FT/PT ratio, in conjunction with the District Manager.
  • Ensure the store has the required staff for successful short-term and long-term operation, working with the District Manager.
