The Impact You’ll Make in this Role The Corporate Finance Director is responsible for financial leadership of the shared services organizations (e.g. IT, R&D, HR, Finance) and driving enhanced capital allocation through a focus on R&D spending and returns and supporting the 3M transformation program . This role will manage a team and partner with Finance leaders and senior operating leaders across 3M. As Corporate Finance Director, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by: Establishing clear spend, productivity, and ROI reporting for Corporate Staff Services with actionable KPIs Collaborate with Corporate Finance and organizational leaders to improve capital allocation, establish KPIs, manage spend, and drive greater visibility, analytics, investment effectiveness, and productivity. Support the 3M transformation program through evaluation of new operating models, identification and implementation of new productivity initiatives, etc. Identify and eliminate waste from current processes. Develop and implement a daily management system to drive financial outcomes and business accountability using data and data analytics

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start)
  • Ten (10) years of Finance experience in a private, public, government or military environment
  • Skills include people leadership, collaboration, communication and adaptability.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead through influence at the enterprise level, including governance routines across corporate functions (IT, R&D, HR, Finance) to drive spend discipline, investment prioritization, and accountability
  • Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).
  • All US-based 3M full time employees will need to sign an employee agreement as a condition of employment with 3M. This agreement lays out key terms on using 3M Confidential Information and Trade Secrets. It also has provisions discussing conflicts of interest and how inventions are assigned.
  • Employees that are Job Grade 7 or equivalent and above may also have obligations to not compete against 3M or solicit its employees or customers, both during their employment, and for a period after they leave 3M.
  • Responsibilities of this position include that corporate policies, procedures and security standards are complied with while performing assigned duties.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree in Finance from an accredited institution
  • Five (5) years of Corporate Finance and/or Financial Planning and Analysis in a private, public, government or military environment
