The Corporate Security Investigations & Risk Specialist is responsible for conducting complex internal and external investigations, managing enterprise security risks, and protecting company employees, assets, information, and reputation across Canadian operations. This role leads investigations involving fraud, insider threats, workplace misconduct, policy violations, and security incidents, while supporting physical, technical, and operational security programs in accordance with applicable regulatory, privacy, and employment standards. The role works closely with Legal, Human Resources, Compliance, IT, Finance, and senior leadership, and serves as a liaison with law enforcement and external partners when required. The position requires strong investigative judgment, discretion, and the ability to operate independently in sensitive and high risk environments.

Requirements

Minimum 3 years of experience in corporate security, investigations, loss prevention, or a related discipline within Canada.
Demonstrated experience conducting fair, impartial, and confidential investigations.
Experience coordinating with law enforcement and external authorities, as required.
Strong analytical, organizational, and case management skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including executive level reporting.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Access or equivalent).
Ability to travel within Canada and participate in on call incident response, as required.
Experience operating in a multi provincial environments.
Candidates must be legally eligible to work in the country in which they applied.

Responsibilities

Conduct internal and external investigations into misconduct, fraud, theft, workplace incidents, ethics violations, insider threats, and breaches of company policy.
Plan and execute investigations using legally defensible, fair, and impartial processes aligned with organizational governance and regulatory requirements.
Conduct professional, non coercive interviews with employees, contractors, and external parties in both English and French, as required.
Collect, preserve, analyze, and manage physical, digital, and documentary evidence while maintaining accurate documentation and evidentiary integrity.
Review transactional data, system records, access logs, and surveillance footage to identify trends, anomalies, and control weaknesses.
Produce clear, factual, and well supported investigative reports for Legal, Human Resources, and executive leadership, including documentation prepared in French where operationally required.
Support internal disciplinary processes and external proceedings, including preparation of materials and testimony when required.
Coordinate appropriately with law enforcement and external authorities when escalation is necessary.
Conduct risk, threat, and vulnerability assessments related to personnel safety, physical security, information protection, and operational continuity.
Identify, investigate, and resolve security breaches and control gaps across corporate, retail, manufacturing, and field environments.
Deliver risk-based security recommendations to strengthen detection, deterrence, and investigative effectiveness.
Participate in emergency management, contingency planning, and response for security-related incidents and high-risk events.
Plan and coordinate security coverage for special and high-risk events across multiple regions.
Provide subject matter expertise for surveillance, access control, and related security technologies in a manner consistent with privacy and data protection principles.
Manage investigative records, data requests, audits, and holds in coordination with Legal and Privacy stakeholders.
Support the design, installation, upgrade, and maintenance of security technology, systems, and equipment through effective project management.
Ensure lawful monitoring practices and compliance with privacy laws, surveillance regulations, data retention, disclosure, and governance standards.
Fulfill and manage subpoenas, legal holds, and executive requests related to surveillance and investigative data.
Oversee and coordinate with third party security vendors and service providers.
Consort with Legal, Privacy, HR, Compliance, IT, and business leaders to ensure investigations and security practices are aligned with organizational policies and employment standards.
Collaborate with external stakeholders, including law enforcement and industry partners, as appropriate.
Develop, update, and maintain security and investigative policies, procedures, and standards in English and French when required.
Provide guidance, training, and mentorship regarding investigative processes, security awareness, and risk mitigation.
Communicate investigative findings, risks, and trends clearly and professionally to diverse stakeholders.
