About The Position

Leidos is a recognized leader in industry and technology, supporting government and commercial customers worldwide. With a large and geographically dispersed workforce, Leidos Security Operations plays a critical role in enabling business activities by establishing and enforcing compliance standards while maintaining a safe and secure work environment. Within Security Operations, the Threat Management team is responsible for detecting, assessing, and mitigating threats to the organization, its personnel, facilities, and operations. The Threat Management team operates out of Leidos’ Global Headquarters located in Reston, Virginia, and is seeking a Senior Principal Investigator. This position offers an exciting opportunity for an experienced security professional to apply investigative and law enforcement expertise in a corporate environment, supporting enterprise-wide efforts to identify, assess, and mitigate threats.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in a related field. Additional years experience may be used in lieu of a degree.
  • Minimum of 15 years of investigative experience as a detective or equivalent.
  • Completion of a certified and accredited law enforcement academy
  • Formal training in interview and interrogation techniques (e.g., Reid Technique of Interviewing or equivalent)
  • Demonstrated experience in conflict resolution and/or hostage negotiation
  • Strong investigative report writing, documentation, and presentation skills
  • Proven ability to effectively brief large audiences on security threats and investigative findings
  • Must be a US citizen with an active TS/SCI clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in a related field
  • Experience leading counterintelligence investigations involving suspected foreign hostile adversary activity
  • Proficiency in utilizing open-source intelligence tools producing clear, actionable analytical summaries

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the lead investigator on Leidos Security policy violations, including:
  • Threat allegations or acts of violence
  • Possession of prohibited items in the workplace
  • Theft or misappropriation of company assets
  • Misuse of company resources or data
  • Counterintelligence concerns involving cleared personnel
  • Supporting joint investigative functions with Human Resources/Workplace Relations and Ethics teams
  • Coordinating with local law enforcement agencies nationwide to conduct employee health and wellness checks
  • Leading recovery efforts for of lost or stolen Leidos assets
  • Collaborating regularly with local, state, and federal law enforcement to identify and mitigate threats to Leidos, its customers, and the Defense Industrial Base
