About The Position

The Corporate Security Officer is responsible for leading and overseeing Crescent’s enterprise security strategy and programs to protect company personnel, assets, facilities, operations, information, and reputation across all business functions and operational regions. This role provides strategic leadership for corporate and field security operations, including physical security, field security, investigations, crisis management, threat intelligence, and security governance. The Corporate Security Officer develops and implements security strategies, standards, policies, and programs designed to proactively identify, assess, and mitigate risks impacting the organization. This position partners closely with Operations, HSE, Legal, HR, IT, Facilities, and Executive Leadership to strengthen organizational resilience, ensure operational continuity, and maintain a safe and secure work environment across corporate offices and field locations. Field Security operations and personnel fall under the leadership and oversight of this role, ensuring consistent implementation of security standards, programs, and response protocols across all operational areas.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, Security Management, Business, Emergency Management, or related field preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in corporate security, law enforcement, military, or security operations leadership roles.
  • Demonstrated experience leading enterprise or regional security programs across multiple locations or operational environments.
  • Upstream Oil & Gas experience preferred.
  • Experience managing security operations, investigations, crisis management, and physical security systems preferred.
  • Texas DPS Level IV Personal Protection Officer credential
  • ASIS Certified Protection Professional (CPP) certification
  • DHS ICS 100, 200, and 300 certifications
  • Investigative interviewing certification through Wicklander-Zulawski or The Reid Institute
  • Enterprise Security Leadership Ability to develop, implement, and oversee enterprise-wide security programs and governance frameworks.
  • Strong strategic planning and organizational leadership capability.
  • Experience aligning security initiatives with operational and business objectives.
  • Risk Assessment & Threat Management Expertise identifying and mitigating risks impacting personnel, facilities, operations, and assets.

  • Crisis & Incident Management Demonstrated ability to lead response efforts during emergencies, critical incidents, or security events.

  • Investigations & Compliance Strong investigative and incident management capability.
  • Experience conducting internal investigations and managing evidence preservation and reporting processes.
  • Knowledge of regulatory standards, compliance requirements, and corporate security best practices.
  • Security Technology & Systems Strong familiarity with physical security technologies including access control, surveillance systems, alarms, monitoring platforms, and incident management systems.
  • Ability to evaluate and implement evolving security technologies and capabilities.
  • Leadership & Communication Strong communication, collaboration, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Ability to influence and build trust across operational and corporate teams.
  • Experience mentoring personnel and leading teams in dynamic operational environments.
  • Operational & Field Security Knowledge Strong understanding of field security operations, remote site security, contractor oversight, and asset protection measures.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and lead the company’s enterprise security strategy, standards, policies, and governance framework.
  • Establish and maintain security programs that protect company personnel, facilities, operations, assets, and reputation.
  • Provide strategic oversight of corporate and field security operations across multiple regions and operational sites.
  • Ensure alignment of security initiatives with organizational goals, operational priorities, and risk management objectives.
  • Maintain enterprise security standards and drive consistent implementation across all business functions and operational locations.
  • Provide leadership and oversight for all security operations, personnel, contractors, and regional security activities.
  • Oversee security operations across offices, production facilities, remote locations, and operational sites.
  • Coordinate security teams, contract security providers, and regional stakeholders to ensure consistent execution of security programs.
  • Monitor emerging security threats, criminal trends, geopolitical developments, and regional risks that could impact company personnel or operations.
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with law enforcement agencies, emergency responders, and industry security counterparts.
  • Develop and maintain enterprise security risk management processes that identify, evaluate, and mitigate physical security and operational threats.
  • Conduct security assessments, audits, and vulnerability reviews to strengthen organizational resilience and reduce risk exposure.
  • Lead or support investigations involving theft, fraud, misconduct, workplace violence, security violations, or other incidents impacting the organization.
  • Ensure appropriate evidence collection, documentation, reporting, and chain-of-custody procedures are maintained.
  • Utilize intelligence, analytics, and protective intelligence methodologies to proactively identify and mitigate emerging threats.
  • Lead security response activities during emergencies, critical incidents, or crisis events affecting company operations or personnel.
  • Support business continuity, crisis management, and emergency preparedness initiatives in coordination with HSE and Operations leadership.
  • Coordinate incident response efforts with law enforcement, emergency services, and internal stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain crisis response protocols, evacuation procedures, and security contingency plans.
  • Participate in drills, exercises, and after-action reviews to strengthen organizational preparedness and response capability.
  • Oversee enterprise physical security systems, including surveillance, access control, alarms, monitoring systems, and related technologies.
  • Ensure security technologies are functioning effectively across corporate and field locations.
  • Evaluate and implement emerging security technologies, systems, and best practices to strengthen overall security effectiveness.
  • Support development and management of security-related budgets, capital projects, and vendor relationships.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop security personnel and contract security teams.
  • Promote a proactive security culture through employee engagement, awareness initiatives, and training programs.
  • Provide security guidance and consultation to leadership teams, operational personnel, and business stakeholders.
  • Foster strong cross-functional relationships with Operations, HSE, HR, Legal, IT, and Facilities teams.
