About The Position

Veterans Covert Protection Group (VCPG) is seeking a professional, reliable, customer-service-oriented Unarmed Corporate Security Officer for a part-time assignment in Atherton, California. The officer will help maintain a safe and secure corporate environment while interacting professionally with employees, visitors, vendors, and clients. The position calls for professionalism, discretion, accountability, strong situational awareness, and a polished appearance. The officer will maintain a visible security presence, manage access, conduct patrols, monitor security systems, respond to incidents and alarms, and prepare accurate reports. The role also requires enforcing site-specific procedures, communicating effectively with supervisors and security colleagues, protecting confidential information, and exercising sound judgment. The schedule is Thursday through Saturday, 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM, at a rate of $30.00 per hour.

Requirements

Possess a valid California BSIS Guard Card.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to remain calm, composed, and professional in high-pressure situations.
Strong observation skills, situational awareness, and attention to detail.
Ability to prepare clear, accurate, and detailed security reports.
Reliable transportation and a demonstrated commitment to punctuality and attendance.
Ability to stand, walk, and conduct patrols for extended periods, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Basic computer proficiency and familiarity with electronic reporting systems.
Ability to work independently, follow instructions, and exercise good judgment.
Availability to work Thursday through Saturday, 2:00 PM–10:00 PM.

Nice To Haves

Previous security experience, ideally in a corporate or professional environment.
Previous experience in corporate security, technology campuses, executive offices, or professional business environments.
Prior military, law enforcement, or professional security experience.
Current CPR/AED and First Aid certification.
Familiarity with CCTV, access control, and visitor management systems.
Experience responding to security incidents, emergencies, and safety concerns.

Responsibilities

Maintain a professional, approachable, and visible security presence at the assigned location.
Monitor and manage access to buildings, offices, and restricted areas.
Conduct routine interior and exterior patrols to identify potential security risks and safety concerns.
Observe, identify, document, and report suspicious activity or unusual incidents.
Respond promptly and professionally to security incidents, emergencies, and alarms.
Prepare accurate and detailed daily activity reports and incident reports.
Provide excellent customer service to employees, visitors, vendors, and clients.
Monitor surveillance cameras, access control systems, and other security equipment as assigned.
Enforce site-specific security procedures, company policies, and established protocols.
Communicate effectively with supervisors, clients, and fellow security personnel.
Maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment when handling sensitive information or situations.
Perform additional security-related duties as assigned.
