About The Position

The Corporate Safety Manager is a strategic, field-active leader responsible for building a company-wide proactive safety culture and ensuring regulatory compliance across five manufacturing facilities in 4 states. Reporting to the Chief Transformation Officer, this role drives consistent safety performance through standardized systems, training, and direct engagement with plant teams. This leader serves as both a systems architect and hands-on contributor – leading continuous safety improvement, reducing operational risk, and supporting leaders across the organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree (preferably in a technical discipline) or equivalent related work experience required.
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience leading safety, with demonstrated experience in multi-state manufacturing environments.
  • Able to effectively lead a cross-function/departmental internal team.
  • Ability to train and coach others in areas of safety expertise.
  • Excellent negotiation, presentation, meeting facilitation, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong multiple project management skills with the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced, high growth environment.
  • Comfortable conducting safety inspections in active industrial, operational settings.

Nice To Haves

  • Certified safety professional preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Plastic injection and blow molding experience desirable.
  • Strong “hands-on” analytical problem solving abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and leads the national EHS strategy, aligned to company guiding principles, regulatory requirements and operations goals.
  • Champions a proactive safety culture that is grounded in employee engagement, hazard elimination, and sustainable leadership, where plant leaders and employees have clear roles and responsibilities for safety culture.
  • Establish and manage key safety key performance indicators and audit scores, and corrective action plans with plant-led accountability.
  • Develops, publishes, and maintains corporate safety procedures, ensuring they are current, accessible, and implemented in the plants.
  • Coaches and assists corporate and plant leaders responsible for safety procedures and their effectiveness on the shop-floor.
  • Facilitates formal hazard identification processes, including machine guarding, control of hazardous energy (LOTO), risk assessments, and job hazard analyses, while ensuring corrective actions are tracked to completion. Overseeing root cause analysis and incident investigation.
  • Travels to company facilities on a regular basis to provide hands-on support, conduct inspections, lead training sessions, and assess safety program effectiveness.
  • Ensures full compliance with applicable federal, state and local safety regulations across all facilities.
  • Assists site leaders in the management of regulatory agency interactions, inspections, and compliance reporting.
