About The Position

This is a corporate safety leadership role responsible for building, improving, and maintaining safety, health, and environmental programs across Group CBS operating companies. The Corporate Safety Manager serves as the enterprise safety authority for electrical service shops, field service teams, CBS ArcSafe operations, vacuum interrupter work, and customer site activity. This role partners closely with operations, field leadership, engineering, quality, HR, and executive leadership to reduce risk, maintain compliance, strengthen safety culture, and support productive work without turning safety into a paperwork parade with steel toe boots.

Requirements

  • 7 to 10 years of progressive safety or EHS experience in electrical services, power systems, industrial maintenance, or field service environments
  • Strong working knowledge of OSHA regulations
  • Strong working knowledge of NFPA 70E and electrical safety practices
  • Experience with high voltage and medium voltage equipment environments
  • Understanding of NETA field service operations
  • Demonstrated experience supporting multi site, field based organizations
  • Proven ability to influence frontline employees, supervisors, and senior leadership
  • Practical, operations oriented mindset
  • Detail oriented, organized, team focused, and able to work at a fast pace
  • Electrical and arc flash safety expertise
  • Strong communication and training skills
  • Data driven risk assessment and reporting ability

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Engineering, Industrial Technology, or a related field
  • CSP, CHST, OSHA 30, OSHA 500, or related safety certification

Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain a company wide safety management system aligned with OSHA, NFPA, NETA, PEARL, and applicable state and federal regulations
  • Serve as the corporate subject matter expert for electrical safety, arc flash mitigation, energized work practices, and high voltage service environments
  • Set safety strategy, annual objectives, KPIs, and continuous improvement initiatives across Group CBS businesses
  • Provide safety performance reporting to executive leadership and private equity stakeholders
  • Monitor regulatory and industry standard changes and update policies as needed
  • Develop and support safety programs for PEARL certified breaker repair and reconditioning shops
  • Support safety practices for NETA field testing, commissioning, and maintenance services
  • Support CBS ArcSafe remote racking systems, demonstrations, and customer facing activities
  • Support vacuum interrupter handling, testing, and replacement activities
  • Ensure proper controls for energized work, lockout tagout, confined space, fall protection, crane and rigging, and high risk electrical tasks
  • Partner with operations leaders to embed safety into SOPs, work instructions, and day to day execution
  • Conduct field visits and attend major outages, projects, and customer sites to observe work practices, coach teams, and reinforce expectations
  • Support outage leadership with job hazard analysis, pre job planning, and dynamic risk assessments
  • Lead internal and external safety audits and inspections
  • Support PEARL, NETA, and customer safety audits, including documentation, corrective actions, and follow up
  • Maintain OSHA logs, incident records, and regulatory filings
  • Own and maintain corporate and business unit safety manuals
  • Ensure safety documentation is consistent, controlled, current, and aligned across operating companies while allowing for operational differences where appropriate
  • Lead incident reporting, investigation, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation
  • Track and analyze safety metrics, near misses, and leading indicators
  • Identify systemic risks and implement controls to reduce recordable incidents and lost time events
  • Promote stronger near miss reporting, corrective action closure, and continuous safety improvement
  • Develop and deliver safety training for field technicians, shop personnel, supervisors, and leadership
  • Ensure consistent onboarding and refresher training related to electrical safety, arc flash, PPE, and hazard recognition
  • Build training that goes beyond compliance and includes leadership behaviors, hazard recognition, human performance principles, and safe decision making
  • Coach supervisors and frontline leaders on safety ownership, accountability, and behavior based safety practices
  • Promote a proactive safety culture built around accountability, learning, and continuous improvement
  • Collaborate with Quality, Engineering, HR, and Operations to align safety with operational excellence
  • Support customer facing safety requirements and contractor safety coordination
  • Assist with pre job safety planning for customer sites, outages, and field projects
