About The Position

The Corporate Quality Control Manager oversees all quality assurance and quality control activities across the organization’s fabrication, construction, and field operations. This role ensures compliance with codes, standards, customer specifications, internal procedures, and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate combines technical expertise with strong leadership, document control precision, and the ability to collaborate effectively with project teams and clients. A quality-driven leader who brings technical credibility, strong organizational discipline, and the ability to influence teams toward excellence in compliance and performance.

Requirements

  • 7–12+ years of QA/QC experience in fabrication or industrial construction.
  • Strong background in ASME, AWS, API, and NDE methods.
  • Analytical thinker with a detail-oriented and disciplined approach.
  • Strong communicator who works effectively with clients, inspectors, and internal teams.
  • Highly organized with exceptional documentation and reporting accuracy.
  • Leadership presence and the ability to enforce standards consistently.
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite, QC databases, and digital inspection/reporting tools.
  • Familiar with weld mapping software, NDE reporting platforms, and turnover systems.
  • High school education.
  • 7 to 10 years experience in fabrication or industrial construction.

  • Prior experience managing multi-site quality programs preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the corporate QA/QC program across all divisions, projects, and fabrication facilities.
  • Maintain and improve company quality manuals, procedures, and inspection processes.
  • Oversee all NDE, welding procedures, welder qualifications, and code compliance.
  • Manage NCRs, CARs, and preventive action programs.
  • Ensure adherence to ASME, AWS, API, and municipal/federal codes.
  • Conduct internal quality audits and readiness reviews for customer or agency audits.
  • Oversee document control, ITPs, WPS/PQR, welding logs, material traceability, and turnover packages.
  • Provide guidance to Project Managers, Superintendents, Engineering, and Shop Managers.
  • Review project specifications and develop QC execution plans.
  • Coordinate third-party inspectors, NDE service providers, and client representatives.
  • Support bidding by identifying quality requirements, code applicability, and risk factors.
  • Supervise QC Inspectors across shop and field locations.
  • Provide training in inspection techniques, documentation, and code updates.
  • Promote a culture of quality and proactive issue prevention.
