About The Position

S3, Inc. is seeking a Corporate Manager of Publications and Marketing to provide senior leadership to their corporate publications and proposal team. This role will support all corporate entities from the company's HQ in Huntsville, AL. The position offers a $10,000 placement bonus and is not a teleworking position. US citizenship is required. The Corporate Manager leads the team in developing winning proposals using the Shipley Proposal Process, managing department publications, ensuring Quality Control, developing marketing products, managing pursuit and B&P budgets, and coordinating three-year strategy plans with General Managers and Vice Presidents. This role also involves leading the building of data repositories using SharePoint, AI tool development, and NextStage development. It presents a unique opportunity to leverage expertise in business development, capture management, and technical innovation to drive growth in missile defense and aviation landscapes.

Requirements

  • 18+ years of relevant experience in DoW proposals responses with a Bachelors’ degree, or 16 years of experience with an advanced degree.
  • At least 5 years in capture management, business development, and proposal development for bids valued at $80M and greater for corporate entities for Missile, Space, and Aviation platforms for SETA training and maintenance requirements for CONUS and OCONUS programs.
  • Strong track record in identifying and qualifying new business opportunities in both domestic and international markets.
  • Proficiency with NextStage software and advanced data analysis for tracking and reporting bid opportunities.
  • Ability to acquire a DoW secret clearance is required.
  • US citizenship required.

  • Advanced degree in STEM field or military training degree, plus a Bachelors’ in a related field, or an MBA.
  • Domain expertise in missile and aviation customer CONOPS, and technical programmatic services, maintenance and training.
  • Proven ability to develop and grow business development and capture teams, implementing best practices across the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute comprehensive marketing strategies, utilizing NextStage.
  • Lead a team of proposal managers, graphic artists, and technical writers to product improvements for proposals for federal contracts.
  • Oversee the end-to-end planning and execution of promotional campaigns, from conceptualization to launch.
  • Analyze consumer behavior, market trends, and competitor activities to identify new opportunities and inform decision making.
  • Use analytics to track the success of campaigns, measuring metrics like conversion rates and ROI to optimize performance.
  • Allocate resources, negotiate contracts, and manage the marketing budget to ensure maximum return on investment.
  • Ensure consistent branding and messaging across all company materials and platforms.
  • Manage marketing teams, freelancers, and agencies while collaborating with product and sales departments to align with company goals.
  • Lead a diverse portfolio of programs and pursuits while driving both the sustainment of current business development targets and the expansion of a pipeline across DoW, commercial, and international Missile Defense, Space, and Aviation markets, from concept through bid submission.
  • Present campaign targets, strategy, and leadership to demonstrate their impact on company growth.
  • Develop early-win strategies for customer outreach and targeted influence, including initial technical discussions, white paper creation, and government relations/legislative advocacy planning.
  • Manage pipeline growth by collaborating with operating units and capture teams, ensuring that customer needs are translated into tailored solutions and effective capture strategies.
  • Drive customer engagement through strategic briefings, RFI responses, and cross functional meetings, supporting executive-level bid/no bid decisions.
  • Oversee all stages of S3, Inc.'s Business Acquisition Process, from identifying new opportunities and setting pursuit priorities, to managing internal investments and ensuring successful capture outcomes.
  • Convene multi-functional teams to innovate and deliver affordable, high-quality technology and engineering solutions.
  • Lead publications to generate winning bids, following the Shipley Process.
