About The Position

The Corporate Maintenance Lead will perform technical service maintenance on facilities at both the corporate buildings and at manufacturing sites. This position requires specific knowledge and experience in several technical disciplines and hands-on experience with the repair of manufacturing support equipment, as well as an understanding of safety requirements necessary to perform the work properly. Additional training will be provided to address any technical gaps and improve knowledge and understanding. The role will also administer training to the salaried and hourly workforce, ensuring a deep understanding of safety requirements.

Requirements

  • Must have a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Technical or Trade School Experience.
  • Training and experience in Mechanical and/or Electrical disciplines.
  • Application use of specific areas of expertise including carpentry, plumbing, painting, hydraulic, pneumatic, and HVAC systems.
  • Maintenance knowledge with specific equipment and processes including crane and hoist equipment, air compressors, pneumatic tools, press brakes, paint booths, saws, and CNC equipment.
  • Safety specific experience includes OSHA and environmental regulations, electrical safety, machine safeguarding, and PPE.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and equipment troubleshooting skills.
  • Computer skills to communicate effectively across the organization.
  • Organizational skills and a service mindset.
  • Ability to communicate professionally and consistently in all situations.
  • Experience with computerized maintenance software.
  • Ability to travel up to 30% to any of our locations, including Canada.
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment while standing or sitting for a minimum of eight hours per day.
  • Ability to occasionally work in an office environment with computer work required.
  • Ability to communicate with others using either meetings, telephone, or computer.
  • Ability to frequently stand (sometimes for extended periods), walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms.
  • Ability to lift small loads and operate both hand and power tools and equipment regularly and without difficulty.

Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance services on facility buildings to reduce the need for outside services.
  • Perform maintenance services on manufacturing and support equipment to reduce the need for outside services.
  • Provide support knowledge and communicate with facility personnel to solve problems remotely.
  • Suggest improvements to production methods or methods that will improve the longevity of equipment.
  • Apply and utilize predictive methods where applicable to prevent unforeseen breakdowns.
  • Standardize maintenance and work methods to assure proper care of equipment.
  • Create maintenance procedures, PM schedules, and spare parts lists.
  • Report on work performed to management personnel at production sites to confirm satisfaction.
  • Utilize a computerized maintenance system to track maintenance services and documentation at multiple facilities.
  • Administer and document training for operators, maintenance, and administrative personnel on proper maintenance and use of equipment.
  • Create training materials and programs that support the use of key equipment.
  • Build safety into every aspect of service, communication, equipment, and processes.
  • Maintain environmental and regulatory compliance.
  • Support the application of new equipment through installation, testing, validation, and training.
  • Coordinate the work of outside contractors necessary to assure proper maintenance and compliance.
  • Work with suppliers to determine proper parts necessary to repair and maintain equipment.
  • Travel extensively to manufacturing sites across North America (approximately 30% of time), sometimes without advance planning.
  • Flex time to accommodate shutdown or weekend work schedules when equipment is available.
  • Perform other maintenance or continuous improvement duties as assigned.
