Requirements

  • JD and/or Graduate from a A.B.A. Accredited Law School
  • Must be licensed to practice in NY

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of 3-4 years associate level experience or equivalent.
  • Candidates with paralegal experience and a law degree will be considered.
  • Strong litigation skills and experience with drafting pleadings, discovery, and motion practice preferred.
  • Experience with enforcement of money judgments a plus.
  • Knowledge and experience with real estate matters, including residential and commercial closings and building construction loans preferred.
  • Experience with Union and non-union environment, collective bargaining and wage/hour a plus.
  • Experience with contract law and employment law as well as legal research preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Draft, manage and revise contracts including but not limited to sales agreements, vendor agreements, and real estate leases.
  • Handle customer collections (legal letters, liens, bankruptcies, lawsuits, and satisfaction letters).
  • Review advertising materials and other publications for legal compliance.
  • Prepare and review construction financing and related closing documentations, mortgages, and satisfactions.
  • Research and analyze various legal issues involving company operations.
  • Review, analyze and interpret: applicable statutes, judicial decisions, legal articles, and regulations relevant to the company.
  • Prepare a variety of business and legal communications to internal and external customers in addressing general business and legal matters.
  • Collaborate and prepare company litigation and provide counsel for various departments, including Sales, Finance, Marketing, and Management.
  • Represent the company on all traffic tickets including court appearances, and related documents.
