About The Position

The Corporate Import Compliance Manager is responsible for overseeing and ensuring company-wide adherence to U.S. Customs and international trade regulations. This role develops, implements, and monitors import compliance programs, policies, and procedures, and serves as the subject matter expert for import operations across all locations. The manager works closely with operations, logistics, legal, and finance teams to mitigate risk, ensure regulatory compliance, and support efficient import processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in International Trade, Supply Chain, Business, or related field required
  • 5–7 years of experience in import operations or trade compliance
  • At least 3 years in a managerial or supervisory role
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. Customs regulations, import/export laws, and international trade compliance
  • Expertise in classification, licensing, and customs entry requirements
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
  • Effective communication and presentation skills for internal teams and regulatory authorities
  • Proficiency with compliance software, transportation management systems, and Microsoft Office

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain corporate import compliance programs and policies
  • Ensure company-wide compliance with U.S. Customs regulations, including ISF, HTS classifications, EAR, ITAR, and other applicable federal regulations
  • Monitor import operations across all locations to ensure adherence to compliance procedures
  • Review and approve customs entries, classification determinations, licenses, and permits as necessary
  • Conduct audits and risk assessments of import processes and documentation to identify gaps or compliance issues
  • Provide training, guidance, and support to import teams and operational staff on compliance requirements
  • Serve as a point of contact for regulatory agencies, including Customs and Border Protection (CBP)
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including finance, operations, and legal, to ensure compliance in new business initiatives and global trade activities
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of import regulations, trade agreements, and industry best practices
  • Investigate and resolve compliance issues, report findings to senior management, and recommend corrective actions
  • Track and report key compliance metrics to corporate leadership
