About The Position

As a Food Safety Specialist, you will assist the Food Safety department by providing leadership and implementing all activities relating to Food Safety by instilling zero tolerance and continual improvement attitude throughout the regional facilities. You will serve as a customer liaison and coordinator for all Quality and Food Safety relations, establish perpetual education philosophies and practices, ensure operational efficiencies, and design, develop, and implement region/facility measurement and monitoring systems. You will also participate in the development and execution of the company's mission, objectives, and strategies.

Requirements

  • Excellent understanding of the principles of food safety as applied to warehouse operations and food manufacturing
  • HACCP Certification
  • Microsoft Office Suite proficiency
  • Project Management and Problem Solving Skills
  • 5-7 Years Of Experience in food safety operations
  • Bachelor's Degree - Biology, Bachelor's Degree - Chemistry, Bachelor's Degree - Food Science, General Equivalency Diploma - General Studies, High School Diploma - General Studies

Responsibilities

  • Audit all operations for compliance to 3rd party audit requisites and customer food safety programs.
  • Escalate unresolved items and drive improvement through corrective action follow up.
  • Provide facilities assistance on activities to ensure compliance to all FDA and customer audit requirements.
  • Assist facility management staffs in review for facility compliance and corrective actions.
  • Assist leadership on internal and external audits.
  • Implement corporate Food Safety Management System that includes documentation, control and adherence to all appropriate sanctioning regulatory concerns including FDA and customer-driven requirements.
  • Ensure that all HACCP plan development, allergen management, documentation and control are in place at all facilities and audit for compliance.
  • Utilize local pest control sanitarians in the support and execution of C&S Pest Control and Master Sanitation programs.
  • Incorporate and solidify food security requirements per FDA and customer guidelines.
  • Assist the Corporate Food Safety Department and company facilities in developing food safety, bio-security, regulatory and quality initiatives to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations as well as compliance with specific customer requirements.
  • Assist in the implementation, modification, and execution of Standard Operating procedures (SOPs) and Standard Sanitation Operating Procedures (SSOPs) for warehouse and manufacturing operations.
