About The Position

This is a hybrid role within the Power and Renewables Energy Group at First Citizens Bank, part of the Energy Finance Business. The group focuses on financing large-scale US conventional gas power projects and renewable energy projects like solar, wind, and battery storage. The team has a strong track record, arranging over $1 billion in debt financing in 2026 and consistently ranking among top banks for US power and renewables projects. The Analyst Development Program (ADP) is designed to build a comprehensive technical skillset through formal classes, online coursework, and on-the-job training. The program begins on July 7, 2027, with an 8-week intensive curriculum in the New York City Office, covering underwriting fundamentals, financial analysis, Excel modeling, First Citizens Bank's core values, system training, business unit overviews, strategic priorities, and credit policies. After the initial training, Analysts join their respective teams and continue their development through ongoing training and professional development sessions, providing a strong foundation for their careers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree OR Associate's Degree/Equivalent and 2 years' experience

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the credit underwriting and portfolio management of diverse debt solutions for middle-market companies.
  • Perform financial modeling in Excel for solar, wind, gas, and battery storage projects.
  • Conduct due diligence of projects, including company and industry analysis, and review of engineering, market, insurance, and transmission studies.
  • Prepare internal credit memorandums.
  • Prepare marketing materials for potential clients and other lenders.
  • Work as part of a Deal Team on live transactions, engaging in credit underwriting, portfolio management, financial analysis, and credit memo preparation.
  • Participate in internal credit approval meetings and client/customer calls as appropriate.
