About The Position

The Corporate Engineer is a key resource for executing on more difficult tasks encountered in projects and is focused primarily on completing tasks or projects in a timely manner. The Corporate Engineer is also a main technical resource for any electrical, mechanical, composite fabrication, and materials related issues. Responsible for the design, development, alteration or modification of a line or type of product. Evaluates and reports on new devices, patents, or competitive items. Has some latitude for independent and original action and decision. This role will focus on mechanical project design and implementation: Technical resource for mechanical and process related issues Specify installation requirements, develop SOW, obtain bids/proposals, and install new capital equipment. Create CAD drawings as required for equipment and building layouts Develop detailed drawing package for equipment design and fabrication Work with contractors to safely install equipment and ensure operates as designed within code requirements Manage budget and schedule constraints to achieve on-time and on-budget projects Manage resources to achieve successful on-time and on-budget completion for projects Develop project proposals (charters) with business case and financial justification (i.e. ROI) Conduct FEA on equipment and part designs where applicable CNC tooling and fabrication familiarity Mold and tooling design Troubleshoot mechanical equipment

Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience in Capital equipment procurement, specification, and installation
  • Project management competency with demonstrated experience (i.e. PMP)
  • Background in Electrical and Mechanical disciplines for installation of new equipment in a manufacturing environment
  • Outstanding Organizational Skills and use of Project Management Software
  • Performance Driven Work Ethic with a Desire for Personal & Professional Growth
  • Ability to analyze complex data and perform statistical analyses
  • Software skills in Excel, Word, and Power point are essential
  • Mechanical Drawing experience
  • CAD/ Solid works
  • BS/MS in Engineering (EE, ME, ChE)
  • OSHA competency in industrial environment
  • Knowledge of building codes for installation of capital equipment in manufacturing environment
  • Self-starter and a team player that will thrive in an entrepreneurial environment
  • Lean / Six Sigma / Continuous Improvement background and problem-solving skills
  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in manufacturing engineering environment

Responsibilities

  • Execute on approved engineering projects and tasks to realize ROI and to meet timeline, communicate to all stakeholders on project progress and organize project reviews as per plan.
  • Design and install processes that meet or exceed our stakeholder’s requirements and regulatory requirements
  • Serve as a technical resource for any electrical, mechanical, and industrial controls related issues.
  • Support facility engineering with difficult tasks encountered on projects
  • Execute on projects and tasks as outlined and directed by the director of engineering (typically requested by the various facilities) in a timely manner and communicate to all stake holders project progress.
  • Lead effort to specify installation requirements, develop SOW, obtain bids/proposals, and install new capital equipment.
  • Assist manufacturing facilities with the implementation of new processes and equipment.
  • Technical reporting of new material, process and key equipment capabilities (white papers).
  • Develop technical training documents for TGC materials and processes to further educate our sales and manufacturing teams and assist with sourcing alternate materials as required.
  • Perform data analysis and report in coherent format for applicability
  • Identify and execute on continuous Improvement opportunities and document savings
  • Participate with the engineering team as a liaison with UL, NEMA, IEC, IEEE, and other industry associations.
