About The Position

The Office of Career and Professional Development (OPCD) is seeking a Corporate Engagement Coordinator. This role is responsible for coordinating the planning, implementation, and organization of various events and programs aimed at fostering relationships between the university, employers, and alumni. These include career fairs, lunch & learn sessions, information sessions, mentorship programs, and other special events. The position will utilize technology systems like Career Fair Plus and Career Forge, and maintain contact records in Salesforce. The coordinator will also build relationships across various university departments, industry partners, and students, and identify potential employers, recruiters, mentors, speakers, or donors. The role may also involve planning employer treks, site visits, and providing administrative support.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 2 years of experience in public relations, donor relations, program management, or professional event planning.

Responsibilities

  • Develops, plans, and coordinates large-scale Career Fairs for the Harbert College of Business managing space rentals, logistics, registration, volunteer signups, marketing/promotion, and employer communication
  • Oversee the administration and implementation of Career Fair Plus and Career Forge, managing technology systems and workflows that support career fairs, special events, employer engagement, registration, and student participation.
  • Plans and coordinates special events with corporate partners/alumni/mentors including Lunch & Learns, networking events, and other special events
  • Creates and maintains a record of contacts and constituents using Salesforce and communicates regularly about visitors and trends.
  • Builds relationships by developing and promoting interaction between department administration, business/industry partners, employers, alumni, faculty, staff, and students.
  • Identifies and recommends individuals, corporations, groups, or programs that qualify as prospective employers and recruiters, mentors, speakers, or donors.
  • May plan and coordinate employer treks and site visits.
  • Under the director of the Director of Employer Engagement, may reach out to and coordinate mentorship programs and solicit engagement from employers/alumni/prospective mentors.
  • Coordinates and provides support to Harbert Connects mentorship program, connecting students with employer and alumni mentors.
  • May provide high-level administrative support to include (but not limited to) typing, filing, proofreading, scheduling meetings, minutes, making travel arrangements and processing expense vouchers, preparing reports, documents and presentations.
  • Maintains event calendar and keeps in sync with College/School and University master calendars, HCOB events, OPCD calendar, and Salesforce.
