About The Position

The Corporate Electrical and Controls Engineer will be a resource across Brakebush Brothers multi-plants as a key designer and researcher of technical solutions and engineering support. This role plays an integral part in designing and implementing improvements to our industrial power distribution, incident energy, new equipment, and control systems.

Requirements

  • Electrical Engineering degree (or related degree) OR 5+ years electrical engineering experience
  • 3+ years’ experience primarily in control system design, implementation, and troubleshooting
  • Demonstrated competency with incident energy calculations
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (esp. Word, Excel, Teams)
  • Proficient with Rockwell software or equivalent programming software.
  • Effective communication skills

Nice To Haves

  • Competence in SKM software
  • Experience in food manufacturing operations and/or conceptual design
  • Knowledge of manufacturing automation systems

Responsibilities

  • Design industrial control systems for all facilities include performing a comprehensive assessment of a machine to run it safely and efficiently.
  • Create control system from scratch; from panel layout and schematics, heat load calculations, SCCR studies, to ground up programming of the control and interface software.
  • Project Management leads capital projects from conception to completion. This includes working with vendors on getting quotes and getting items purchased for the project ensuring projects are on time and stay within budget.
  • Modify, audit, update and manage control system programs across all facilities , management of controls assets by request and need of the company. Includes updating firmware, security protocols, system integrations, etc.
  • Design industrial power distribution systems for multiple facilities ; including drawing and updating single line diagrams (1-lines).
  • Collaborate with lead Engineer and multiple facilities to design schedules that meet project requirements and deadlines.
  • Conduct calculations and comprehensive site surveys of incident energy to aid system design, troubleshooting issues, and recommend improvements.
  • Review new equipment designs and system performance criteria; identify solutions, risk and technical guidance with equipment implementation and utilization.
  • Collaborates with internal partners, vendors and contractors and serves as subject matter experts for them to ensure products and designs meet the electrical supply needs of all facilities. Includes new equipment commissioning.
  • Stays current with industry regulations and codes related to facility and equipment system design and operations, including 508UL
  • Evaluate new control technologies on the market and how they may integrate into our systems to increase reliability, safety, and efficiency.
