About The Position

The Corporate Director of Patient Safety and Clinical Quality ensures system-wide integration of clinical quality and patient safety initiatives for the entity. Reporting to the Vice President of Quality and Performance Improvement, this role is critical to achieve the Emanate Health vision of top-decile clinical outcomes. The Corporate Director collaborates with operational leadership to foster a culture of safety and reduce clinical risk. Responsible for the effectiveness and efficiency of adverse event reporting, comprehensive system analyses, and provider peer review. This individual ensures compliance with state and federal reporting mandates (HCAI, TJC, CMS) within the patient safety domain and leads the organization in achieving high-reliability in patient care delivery through performance improvement methodologies, evidence-based practice, and clinical analytics. Proactively builds strong team and business relationships, both internally and externally. Serves as the subject matter expert (SME) on aspects of the patient safety program to develop and influence improvement strategies. Pursues opportunities that add value and eliminate redundancy for the organization to help achieve and retain optimal quality and patient safety outcomes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Health Care related field required.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of acute clinical experience with performance improvement and/or in the acute healthcare setting.
  • Progressive leadership experience in an acute healthcare setting.
  • Current California RN license (other clinical licenses will be considered with extensive patient safety experience in the acute care setting).
  • Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) within 18 months or CPHQ Patient Safety Micro-credential within 1 year of hire.
  • Certified Lean Six Sigma Green Belt (or higher) required (experience considered in lieu of certification).

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s Degree in Healthcare related field preferred.
