Spartronics is a U.S.-based manufacturing partner specializing in complex electronics and electromechanical assemblies for the aerospace & defense, medical device, industrial, and semiconductor markets. We provide end-to-end support from engineering and new product introduction (NPI) to supply chain management and high-reliability manufacturing. Our teams focus on high-mix, low-volume programs where quality, technical expertise, and strong customer partnerships are essential. This role requires daily on-site presence at one of Spartronics’ U.S. manufacturing locations, with up to 40% travel. Candidates must live within commuting distance of one of the following locations. The Director of Engineering is a corporate-level leader responsible for driving engineering execution, standardization, and performance across all U.S. company manufacturing sites. This role provides oversight and coordination of both product and process engineering functions, ensuring consistent application of engineering practices that support high-reliability electronics manufacturing in regulated industries including aerospace & defense, medical, and industrial markets. Reporting to the Vice President of Operations, the Director of Engineering partners closely with site leadership, Engineering Managers, Operations, Quality, and Program Management to ensure successful new product introductions (NPI), robust manufacturing processes, and sustained operational performance. This role serves as a key technical leader, guiding engineering teams across multiple sites to achieve alignment in process standards, tooling strategies, and manufacturing best practices while supporting customer requirements and business objectives. This position requires a balance of technical depth and leadership capability, with the ability to influence across a matrixed organization. The Director of Engineering plays a critical role in improving yield, reducing cost, ensuring compliance with applicable standards (e.g., AS9100, ISO13485, ISO9001), and advancing manufacturing capabilities across SMT, through-hole assembly (THA), box build, conformal coating, and test operations.
