About The Position

The Corporate Development Officer is responsible for managing a portfolio of corporate partners and prospects. This position will invest heavily in relationships to ensure that: our current donors/corporate partners feel appreciated and motivated to maintain or increase their support; and new connections to our mission feel inspired to partner with Youth Frontiers.

Requirements

  • 2-5 years experience in individual and/or institutional relationship management and development.
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Experience with CRM databases, preferably Salesforce.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to take initiative and anticipate the needs of a diverse group of donors, stakeholders, and colleagues.
  • Goal and results driven, strong organizational skills, ability to meet deadlines in a fast paced environment.
  • In addition to these general skills, the position requires the ability to participate in all aspects of the gift cycle: (1) initiate contacts with potential donors; (2) develop appropriate cultivation strategies; (3) move potential donors in an appropriate and timely fashion toward solicitation and closure; (4) make solicitations when appropriate; (5) maintain and nurture stewardship contacts.

  • Experience creating and executing corporate sponsorship partnerships.

Responsibilities

  • Build and manage a portfolio of 100-125 accounts.
  • Participate in all phases of the solicitation process and escalate at-risk relationships appropriately.
  • Work with key external contacts to build mutually beneficial partnerships rooted in mission impact and employee engagement.
  • Engage corporate partners in program participation/sales, volunteerism, leadership involvement, and/or sponsorship to position partnerships for contributed and/or earned revenue.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders at YF partner organizations.
  • Establish and maintain strategic relationships with board and advisory council members, staff, Youth Frontiers leadership, and external partners to enlist active support for YF's fundraising efforts.
  • Develop highly personalized communications including proposals, reports, and general program updates.
  • Travel as needed to meet with existing and prospective partners in support of program objectives.
  • Actively participate in planning sessions and advise leadership on cultivation strategies.
  • Build out the annual sponsorship plan to deepen engagement and drive growth (in terms of revenue and number of partners) from corporate supporters.
  • Utilize networks of existing supporters, market-specific research, community events, etc. to identify corporate sponsorship and community program sales prospects.
  • Support ongoing improvements to the systems and processes that operationalize and organize development efforts.
  • Provide monthly and quarterly portfolio revenue projections and forecasting.
  • Record all interactions with partners and prospects within Salesforce.
  • Track personal progress towards weekly, monthly, and quarterly goals including outreach and meetings.
  • All positions at Youth Frontiers may perform other duties as assigned.
