About The Position

The Corporate Counsel is responsible for reviewing, drafting, negotiating, and managing contracts across a wide range of commercial categories, including indirect services such as technology and IT agreements, equipment and tooling, aviation, and logistics, as well as sales-related agreements, distribution arrangements, and other commercial contracts supporting both the buy-side and sell-side of the business. The contracts may involve the purchase of products and services such as supplies, software, SaaS, materials, equipment, and other items. This role will handle work for the procurement teams, the sales teams, and other commercial contracting needs across the business. The Corporate Counsel is a member of the Law Department who supports the business by providing legal guidance on commercial transactions and contract negotiations. This role serves as a key point of contact between internal business teams and senior legal counsel, ensuring contracts are negotiated, drafted, and executed in accordance with company standards and applicable law. This position will serve Rheem North America, located in Atlanta, GA (Hybrid). This role follows our hybrid work arrangement, with team members working in the office Monday through Thursday and remotely on Fridays.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to practice law in at least one state.
  • Experience in reviewing, drafting, and negotiating commercial contracts.
  • Familiarity with various commercial categories including technology, IT, equipment, aviation, logistics, sales agreements, and distribution arrangements.
  • Understanding of both buy-side and sell-side contracting.
  • Knowledge of applicable law related to commercial contracts.
  • Ability to serve as a key point of contact between business teams and senior legal counsel.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
