About The Position

Idyllic Enterprises is a growing, multi-faceted organization dedicated to excellence, innovation, and integrity. We are seeking a seasoned, strategic, and business-minded attorney to join our team as our new in-house counsel. This is a high-visibility role that will serve as a trusted legal partner to executive leadership while managing a broad range of corporate, litigation, and intellectual property matters. We are looking for an attorney who can handle all corporate legal matters while possessing strong, hands-on litigation experience. The ideal candidate is a well-rounded legal professional with deep law firm experience in corporate law and litigation, and—ideally—a background as a prosecuting attorney that demonstrates exceptional courtroom and case-management ability. This role offers a unique opportunity to build and shape the legal function of a dynamic enterprise, working on matters that directly impact the company’s growth and success.

Requirements

  • J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • Active membership in good standing with at least one state bar.
  • Approximately 10 years of experience in a law firm handling corporate matters, including litigation.
  • Strong and demonstrable litigation experience, including motions practice, discovery, negotiations, and trial preparation or trial experience.
  • Solid knowledge of corporate law, contracts, compliance, and general business law.
  • Excellent legal writing, drafting, and negotiation skills.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and strategic-thinking abilities.
  • Ability to work independently while functioning as a collaborative team leader.
  • Exceptional communication skills—able to translate complex legal concepts for business leaders.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and handle high-stakes matters with composure.

Nice To Haves

  • 3–5 years of experience as a prosecuting attorney (e.g., Assistant District Attorney, Deputy District Attorney, or similar role), demonstrating strong courtroom advocacy, case strategy, and high-pressure legal decision-making.
  • Registered patent attorney with the USPTO, or the ability to become registered, with experience managing intellectual property portfolios.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as primary legal advisor to executive leadership on corporate, commercial, and strategic matters.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of contracts, including vendor agreements, client contracts, NDAs, employment agreements, and partnership documents.
  • Manage corporate governance, entity maintenance, board resolutions, and regulatory compliance.
  • Oversee all litigation and dispute resolution, including direct case handling, settlement strategy, trial preparation, and management of outside counsel.
  • Provide strategic advice on risk management and mitigation across the organization.
  • If applicable, manage intellectual property matters, including trademark and patent strategy, IP portfolio management, licensing, and enforcement.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Develop and implement corporate legal policies, procedures, and training.
  • Advise on employment, labor, and human resources–related legal matters.

Benefits

  • Base Salary: $175,000 – $225,000 per year, commensurate with experience/abilities.
  • Potentially eligible for performance-based bonus.
  • Generous paid time off and paid holidays.
  • Meaningful work in a collaborative, supportive environment with significant autonomy and executive visibility.
