About The Position

Salesforce is seeking a proactive, business-oriented, and tech-savvy attorney to join our Product Legal team and support our B2B and/or B2C Apps. In this role, you will partner directly with executives, developers, and product managers to provide strategic legal counsel and thought leadership throughout the entire product lifecycle, from initial research and development through launch and global distribution. This is a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of cutting-edge data management, AI governance, and enterprise cloud technology. You'll partner with cross-functional teams across Salesforce to navigate complex product, privacy, regulatory, and commercial challenges as we build the unified data foundation for agentic AI. You'll work out of one of our beautiful offices (locations on posting) on a hybrid schedule, 3 days a week.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor degree and active membership in at least one US state bar.
  • 5+ years of combined experience in a law firm and/or in-house legal department.
  • Deep understanding of AI, data privacy and security laws (EU AI Act, GDPR, CCPA, etc.) and their application to data management platforms.
  • Familiarity with AI/ML legal and ethical considerations, including emerging AI regulations.
  • Comfort discussing complex technical architectures, APIs, etc.
  • Excellent drafting, negotiation, and analytical skills.
  • Excellent business judgment and the proven ability to provide practical, business-oriented legal advice in fast-paced environments.
  • Proven ability to build relationships across Engineering, Product, and Marketing teams to drive consensus on high-stakes risks.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience supporting data integration, ETL, or middleware products.
  • Experience with M&A integration or working in a post-acquisition environment.
  • Prior exposure to API agreements, developer terms, and platform ecosystems.
  • CIPP/US or CIPP/E certification.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to product and engineering teams developing new and existing Clouds, products and features.
  • Conduct deep-dive legal reviews of new features to ensure products are enterprise-ready and comply with GDPR, CCPA, and industry-specific regulations (HIPAA, FedRAMP).
  • Provide legal guidance for the use of machine learning and generative AI within data integration workflows, ensuring compliance with the EU AI Act and Salesforce’s policies and Ethical AI principles.
  • Partner with M&A integration teams to harmonize contracting processes, terms and conditions, and legal frameworks between Salesforce and newly acquired businesses.
  • Partner with Commercial Legal and Privacy teams to draft and negotiate complex product-specific terms, Data Processing Addendums, partner agreements, and terms of service.
  • Serve as trusted legal advisor to product management, engineering, sales, and business development teams.
  • Monitor and advise on global legal developments affecting data integrators and SaaS providers, translating these into actionable product requirements.
