About The Position

Attalon is looking to hire a Corporate Attorney to join its in-house Legal, Compliance, and Security Team working in a hybrid office arrangement from its offices in Bloomfield, CT. The successful candidate will report to the General Counsel and provide legal services covering an array of subject matter in support of Attalon’s manufacturing operation. The office location does not limit the scope of the role. This is a high visibility position in a corporate department with enterprise-wide responsibility for all legal, compliance, and security matters. Hybrid work arrangement (2-3 days in office per week) and up to 10% travel.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school with strong academic credentials and a license to practice law in one or more US states.
  • 3-8+ years of experience practicing law in a business or law firm.
  • Superior written and oral communication skills, along with excellent presentation skills.
  • Ability to quickly establish a solid rapport and trust with the legal team and executives and develop strong working relationships with internal business partners.
  • Excellent strategic, organizational, and business process skills with the ability to follow through on numerous projects simultaneously and under tight deadlines.
  • Ability to work well independently, coupled with strong interpersonal skills, resourcefulness, and an ability to participate in a highly collaborative team environment.
  • Flexibility, strong commitment to professionalism, and collegiality.
  • Unassailable commitment to personal and business excellence, integrity, and ethics, exquisite attention to detail, and the abilities to prioritize and multi-task.
  • Candidates must be classified as a “U.S. Person” under applicable regulations or be eligible for authorization under a U.S. government export license.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with commercial contracts, government contracting, FARs, DFARs, and other federal procurement regulations.
  • Experience in the Aerospace and Defense Industry.
  • Aptitude for generating positive business outcomes relating to the sales contracting process and organization with a modest volume of contract activity.
  • Leadership experience.
  • Experience with litigation and dispute resolution.
  • Experience managing a patent portfolio or other experience with intellectual property matters.

Responsibilities

  • Reviewing, drafting, and negotiating contracts with customers and suppliers, including purchase and supply agreements, confidentiality agreements, licensing agreements, and other complex commercial agreements.
  • Providing guidance on business and legal risks to internal teams as needed.
  • Assisting in implementing and maintaining appropriate policies and procedures to ensure the company’s compliance with applicable laws and regulations, including such matters as trade compliance, FAR/DFARs compliance, privacy and consumer protection compliance, and compliance with other applicable laws and regulations.
  • Helping build and improve legal forms.
  • Acting as a business partner supporting the achievement of the organization’s operational goals and strategies.
  • Working closely with other Legal Department colleagues on cross-business and cross-department initiatives.
