This role involves collaborating with stakeholders to develop a strategic and proactive approach to the Company’s legal, compliance, and risk management matters. The Corporate Counsel will identify trends, develop frameworks, and implement initiatives, while also building positive relationships with key stakeholders to address legal matters collaboratively and minimize risk. The position requires promoting the Company's core values and providing consultation, guidance, and coaching on legal matters to ensure alignment with the Company's culture. A key responsibility is championing legal and regulatory compliance through self-audits, risk identification, and corrective actions. The role provides legal services to various functional teams, including operations, engineering, sales, quality, marketing, finance, and IT, assisting with strategies and implementation. This includes label review, contract drafting and review, legal research, leasing issues, and intellectual property protection. Expertise is also required in evolving areas such as e-commerce, data privacy, AI, cyber-security, and anti-counterfeiting. The Corporate Counsel will advise on laws and regulations from agencies like the FDA and FTC, as well as international bodies, pertaining to dietary supplements, natural foods, and personal care products. The role involves drafting and reviewing legal agreements, managing commercial disputes, and advising directors and officers on corporate governance matters. Additionally, the position assists with the administration of insurance policies and handles product complaint records.
