Corporate Counsel - Commercial
About The Position
As Corporate Counsel - Commercial, you will provide legal support to our sales and business teams within Fiserv’s Merchant Solutions division. This support will involve drafting and negotiating commercial agreements with clients and other strategic partners; providing guidance to sales, product and technology leaders on legal matters; and collaborating closely with company specialists regarding products, operations, technology, data privacy, security and regulatory matters. At Fiserv, the Legal team provides guidance, manages risk, and supports business execution across a global fintech and payments organization. The team delivers practical legal and strategic advice, supports contract negotiations, and ensures compliance across governance, regulatory, and risk areas while partnering closely with business partners. The team plays a direct role in supporting business growth while protecting the company.
Requirements
- 8+ years of general transactional legal experience.
- License to practice law in at least one US jurisdiction and in good standing, with ability to obtain any additional required licensure promptly upon hire.
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school, or equivalent combination of education, related experience and/or military experience.
- Must currently possess valid and unrestricted U.S. work authorization to be considered for this role. Individuals with temporary visas including, but not limited to, F-1 (OPT, CPT, STEM), H-1B, H-2, or TN, or any candidate requiring sponsorship, now or in the future, will not be considered for this role.

Responsibilities
- Draft, review and negotiate complex client, partner and other commercial agreements.
- Provide counsel on new product development and strategic initiatives.
- Actively engage with subject matter specialists regarding finance, audit, tax, IT, regulatory, privacy and technology matters that affect the business division.
- Maintain knowledge of industry best practices and applicable laws and regulations affecting the operations of the Merchant Solutions division.
- Develop and maintain forms of contracts and other legal documentation.
