It also partners with finance and operating functions on business changes, acquisitions, supplier programs, and system implementations from an accounting and controls perspective. The role is based in Vancouver, Washington; Spokane, Washington; or Boise, Idaho, with a hybrid work arrangement. It is full-time and offers a salary range of $175,000 to $250,000, depending on location, experience, qualifications, and skills.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
  • Progressive accounting leadership experience that includes ownership of the monthly close, financial reporting, external audit, internal controls, and team leadership.
  • Experience improving accounting processes, clarifying roles, and leading change in a multi-location, inventory-intensive, distribution, manufacturing, or consumer-products environment.
  • Demonstrated command of U.S. GAAP and the ability to translate accounting requirements into practical business processes and controls.
  • Strong technical accounting, financial reporting, audit, internal-control, and balance-sheet-management capability.
  • Ability to establish a disciplined close calendar, identify root causes, and improve speed without sacrificing accuracy or control.
  • Practical understanding of inventory accounting, supplier funding, customer deductions, rebates, deposits, fixed assets, cash, and other balance-sheet and transaction-accounting processes.
  • Advanced analytical and systems skills, including effective use of ERP data, Microsoft Excel, reporting tools, and workflow automation.
  • Clear executive communication and the ability to explain accounting matters to non-accounting leaders.

Nice To Haves

  • CPA license or active CPA credential.
  • Experience in beverage distribution, alcoholic-beverage distribution, Coca-Cola bottling or distribution, wholesale distribution, or a similarly regulated route-to-market business.
  • Experience with enterprise resource planning, warehouse or route-accounting systems, financial consolidations, and close-management or account-reconciliation tools.
  • Experience supporting acquisitions and financial systems implementations.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual close and deliver accurate, timely financial reporting.
  • Maintain the integrity of the general ledger, chart of accounts, intercompany activity, and supporting accounting records.
  • Standardize work, resolve bottlenecks, and establish effective review controls to improve close speed and reliability.
  • Lead the annual external financial-statement audit and maintain year-round audit readiness.
  • Design, document, and monitor practical internal accounting controls across key financial processes.
  • Own accounting policies and significant technical conclusions under U.S. GAAP.
  • Identify and escalate material accounting, reporting, control, or compliance risks.
  • Oversee cash, receivables, payables, inventory accounting, fixed assets, and other controllership activities.
  • Clarify process ownership and eliminate unnecessary duplication, manual rework, and single-person dependencies.
  • Lead system and workflow improvements that increase accuracy, control, and efficiency.
  • Develop an accountable, service-oriented accounting team through clear expectations, coaching, cross-training, and succession planning.
  • Partner with finance, operations, sales, supply chain, IT, HR, auditors, and advisors.
  • Provide disciplined accounting insight to the CFO and senior leadership.
  • Support business changes, acquisitions, supplier programs, and system implementations from an accounting and controls perspective.
