The Role We’re seeking a strategic and hands-on Controller to own our financial operations, reporting, and compliance functions. This role will be critical in building scalable financial infrastructure, implementing best-in-class systems, and providing leadership with actionable insights as we accelerate beyond $2 Billion in annual transaction volume.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience with senior executive exposure befitting the top accounting role, including prior ownership of close and reporting processes.
  • Demonstrated experience with variable transaction-based revenue from either: Payments / fintech (acquiring, issuing, payment processing, money movement, wallets), or Travel (OTAs, airlines, hospitality, or travel-tech with complex payment flows and reconciliations).
  • Technical expertise with revenue recognition in the payments industry.
  • Proven track record with modern financial tools and ability to leverage AI in building the finance function of the future.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-moving, entrepreneurial environment.
  • CPA required.

Nice To Haves

  • Senior experience in Big Four, Travel Tech or Fintech accounting.
  • Multi-currency and cryptocurrency transaction exposure.
  • Knowledge of payment industry regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Prior support for high growth companies with fundraising and M&A.

Responsibilities

  • Lead all accounting operations including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger, and financial reporting.
  • Produce accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Lead month-end and year-end close processes with increasing efficiency and accuracy.
  • Develop and maintain financial policies, procedures, and internal controls for a rapidly scaling company.
  • Manage cash flow forecasting and working capital optimization.
  • Implement and maintain an AI-first financial technology stack (ERP, Bill-pay, Banking, revenue recognition tools, etc.).
  • Partner with Product & Engineering teams to design accurate financial data flows between financial systems and operational platforms to support new product launches.
  • Coordinate annual audits and manage relationships with external auditors.
  • Partner with the CFO on Board reporting, investor and m&a due diligence.
