About The Position

Americase is a leading designer and manufacturer of highly engineered transportation, storage, and protective container solutions, serving customers across a wide array of industries where safety, quality, performance, and reliability are essential. Americase is experiencing exceptional growth and is evolving from an entrepreneurial manufacturing business into a larger, multi-site, and increasingly complex enterprise. We are seeking a Corporate Controller who can build the accounting infrastructure, financial discipline, systems, and team required to support that growth. The Corporate Controller is the senior accounting leader responsible for the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of Americase's financial reporting. Reporting to the CFO, the Controller will lead the accounting organization, own financial reporting and the monthly close, establish rigorous inventory and cost-accounting practices across multiple facilities, strengthen internal controls, and build scalable accounting systems and processes. A central priority of this position will be creating consistent inventory-control and cost-accounting practices as Americase expands its manufacturing footprint. The Controller must be comfortable working directly with plant leadership, operations, supply chain, procurement, and engineering to ensure the financial records accurately reflect activity occurring on the manufacturing floor. This is a hands-on leadership position. The successful candidate must be equally comfortable reviewing detailed reconciliations, investigating inventory or manufacturing variances, developing accounting team members, and advising senior leadership on financial and operational risks. The Controller will also oversee and maintain day-to-day banking activities and relationships and will work closely with the FP&A Lead. The Controller is accountable for the integrity of historical financial results and underlying accounting data, while FP&A leads budgeting, forecasting, long-range planning, and forward-looking performance analysis.

Requirements

CPA required; international accounting credential (e.g., ACCA exposure) a plus but not required.
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a closely related field.
At least eight years of progressive accounting experience, including meaningful leadership responsibility within a manufacturing environment.
Demonstrated expertise in manufacturing and cost accounting, including inventory valuation, product costing, overhead allocation, and manufacturing-variance analysis.
Experience establishing and managing accounting functions related to inventory controls across multiple facilities or operating locations.
Deep knowledge of U.S. GAAP, financial reporting, month-end close, balance-sheet reconciliations, and internal controls.
Prior hands-on experience leading US GAAP consolidation for entities operating in multiple countries.
Demonstrated experience with ASC 830 (foreign currency) in a live multi-currency environment.
Experience leading and developing an accounting team.
Strong ERP experience and advanced proficiency with Excel and financial-reporting tools.
Demonstrated success improving accounting processes and controls in a growing or changing organization.
Ability to work effectively across accounting, operations, supply chain, engineering, sales, and executive leadership.
Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
High degree of integrity, sound judgment, confidentiality, and personal accountability.

Responsibilities

Lead the development and implementation of consistent inventory-control and cost-accounting processes across all Americase facilities.
Establish clear accounting procedures for purchasing, receiving, material issuance, production reporting, inventory transfers, work-in-process, finished goods, scrap, rework, and shipping.
Ensure the perpetual inventory records and general ledger are accurately reconciled by facility and inventory category.
Audit and review the cycle-count and physical-inventory programs, including count procedures, variance investigation, root-cause analysis, and corrective actions.
Ensure appropriate accounting transactions are recorded for raw materials, work-in-process, finished goods, consigned inventory, inventory in transit, and inventory located at suppliers or third-party manufacturers.
Maintain and continuously improve Americase's product-costing methodology, including material costs, bills of material, routings, labor rates, burden rates, overhead allocations, and standard or actual costs.
Analyze material, labor, purchase-price, usage, efficiency, overhead, scrap, and other manufacturing variances.
Partner with operations and supply chain leadership to identify the operational causes of unfavorable variances and implement corrective actions.
Lead all general accounting activities and ensure the timely and accurate preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
Own the monthly close process, including the close calendar, journal entries, account reconciliations, consolidations, management review, and resolution of accounting issues.
Establish and consistently meet an appropriate monthly close timetable while improving reporting accuracy and usefulness.
Oversee the general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash application, fixed assets, expense reporting, and related accounting functions.
Maintain a scalable chart of accounts and reporting structure that supports analysis by facility, product, customer, program, and business line.
Review significant contracts and business arrangements for appropriate accounting treatment.
Provide accurate actual results and supporting detail to the CFO and FP&A Lead for management reporting, forecasting, and strategic analysis.
Develop and maintain accounting policies addressing revenue recognition, inventory, reserves, accruals, capitalization, leases, fixed assets, customer programs, and other significant transactions.
Design, document, implement, and monitor an internal-control environment appropriate for a rapidly growing, multi-site enterprise.
Establish appropriate segregation of duties, approval authorities, account ownership, reconciliations, documentation standards, and transaction controls.
Standardize accounting and control procedures across facilities while ensuring local leadership understands and follows those expectations.
Identify financial and operational control gaps and lead practical corrective-action plans.
Coordinate external financial statement audits or reviews and serve as the principal accounting contact for external auditors.
Support tax compliance, insurance reporting, and other external financial requirements in coordination with the CFO and outside advisors.
Maintain audit-ready supporting documentation and ensure the timely resolution of audit findings.
Promote a culture of financial integrity, accountability, and compliance throughout the organization.
Responsible for bank covenant compliance calculations and certifications, preparing the financial reporting packages required under the banking agreements, and preparing the borrowing base and other certifications for signature by the CFO.
Oversee the day-to-day banking operations, maintaining banking relationships at the operational level.
Support the CFO in treasury activities, cash management, liquidity reporting, and banking relationships.
Maintain appropriate controls over bank accounts, payment activities, authorized signers, cash movements, and access to treasury systems.
Coordinate with FP&A on cash-flow forecasting by providing accurate historical information, working-capital data, and treasury activity.
Develop scalable accounting and control processes for international and cross-border business activities.
Build and manage the statutory-to-GAAP bridge, reconciling local statutory books (local GAAP/IFRS) to US GAAP consolidated results.
Ensure the appropriate accounting treatment of transactions involving international suppliers, customers, third-party manufacturers, or affiliated entities.
Support accounting for foreign currencies, duties, freight, landed costs, and cross-border inventory movements.
Coordinate with tax, legal, customs, and other outside advisors regarding international financial and compliance requirements.
Assist the CFO with establishing financial controls for new countries, entities, facilities, and international manufacturing relationships as Americase expands.
Ensure that financial reporting across countries and entities is timely, consistent, and appropriately consolidated.
Serve as the accounting owner of Americase's ERP and related financial systems, with responsibility for financial-data integrity and effective system controls.
Evaluate existing accounting workflows and implement scalable, standardized processes that reduce manual effort and improve accuracy.
Partner with IT, operations, supply chain, sales, and FP&A on ERP enhancements, reporting tools, integrations, and master-data governance.
Develop repeatable processes that can accommodate increasing transaction volume, additional facilities, international activity, and organizational complexity.
Use automation, analytics, and other technology to improve reconciliations, reporting, transaction processing, and financial visibility.
Maintain clear process documentation, accounting calendars, responsibility matrices, and standard operating procedures.
Lead, develop, and hold accountable Americase's accounting team.
Evaluate the structure, capabilities, and capacity of the accounting organization and develop a staffing plan appropriate for the company's growth.
Establish clear roles, performance expectations, development plans, and succession opportunities.
Build a service-oriented accounting organization that combines technical rigor with responsiveness to the business.
Partner closely with manufacturing, supply chain, procurement, engineering, sales, and other functional leaders.
Translate accounting results and manufacturing variances into clear, actionable information for non-financial leaders.
Identify emerging accounting, cash flow, margin, inventory, or control risks and communicate them promptly to the CFO and executive team.
