About The Position

We are seeking a strategic and hands-on Multi-Store Dealership Controller to oversee financial operations across multiple rooftops while building, developing, and mentoring a high-performing accounting and office administration team. The ideal candidate not only thrives on accuracy and operational excellence but is also passionate about coaching staff, improving processes, and creating scalable systems that support growth. Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience as a Dealership Controller (multi-store experience strongly preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of dealership accounting, manufacturer financial statements, and compliance.
  • Demonstrated success in developing staff, running training programs, and building team capabilities .
  • Proficiency with dealership management systems (e.g., CDK, Reynolds & Reynolds, Dealertrack) and Excel/BI reporting tools.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred but not required

Responsibilities

  • Direct and oversee accounting functions for multiple dealership locations, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with GAAP, manufacturer requirements, and internal policies.
  • Consolidate financial statements and deliver clear, actionable reporting to senior leadership.
  • Partner with Fixed Ops and Variable Ops leaders to monitor KPIs, margins, and expense controls.
  • Drive improvements in cash flow, internal controls, and operational efficiency.
  • Lead, mentor, and grow a team of accounting staff and office administrators across stores.
  • Develop training programs that enhance technical accounting skills, dealership system proficiency (DMS, CRM, OEM portals), and professional growth.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Identify and groom high-potential talent for future leadership roles
  • Standardize policies and procedures across stores for efficiency and consistency.
  • Implement new technologies and reporting tools to streamline accounting workflows.
  • Serve as a change leader—ensuring staff are trained, supported, and confident in adopting new processes.
