About The Position

Inland Imaging is seeking a Corporate Controller, Shared Services & Investments to join its team! This position will be located at the Inland Imaging Business Center in Spokane, WA. The Corporate Controller, Shared Services & Investments owns all accounting, financial reporting, and FP&A for the Inland Imaging holding, shared services, and investment entities: Inland Imaging Investments (III), Inland Imaging Business Associates and Inland RBS (IIBA/IRBS), Smart Investments, Gestalt Diagnostics, RFLLC, and Inland RCM (IRCM). Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, this leader runs the consolidated close, the multi-entity consolidation, and the audited and reviewed financial statements for the III group and serves as the financial backbone of a physician-owned enterprise. This is a hybrid role that pairs controllership discipline with corporate FP&A. The Controller manages the budgets, forecasts, and proformas that drive enterprise decisions, owns cost accounting and labor and service allocations, and manages the financial mechanics of shareholder ownership: buy-ins and buy-outs, share-price determination, notes receivable from shareholders, and the distribution process. The role is a peer to the Controller of the radiology operating group, with this seat focused on the holding company, shared services, and investment side of the enterprise. The Controller leads a team of two direct reports (Director, Accounting and Payroll Manager) and 6 staff beneath them. We are seeking a CPA with a public accounting foundation, strong FP&A capability, and the judgment to operate with significant autonomy in a multi-entity environment.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field is required.
Ten or more years of progressive accounting and finance experience required, with at least five years in a supervisory or management role.
Public accounting experience is strongly preferred, ideally including audits or reviews of annual financial statements at a Big 4, national, or strong regional firm.
Demonstrated FP&A capability required, including budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, proforma development, and financial modeling.
Strong working knowledge of both GAAP and cash-based reporting, and experience producing complete monthly reporting packages for multiple companies.
Multi-entity consolidation experience required.
Experience with shareholder equity, valuations, distributions, or partnership and physician-owned structures is strongly preferred.
Advanced Excel required: complex formulas, data analysis tools, pivot tables, Power Query, and financial modeling.
Active CPA is required.
Must be able to pass a background check required by RCW 43.43.830-840 to work with children under the age of 16, developmentally disabled persons or vulnerable adults

Responsibilities

Manages and directs all accounting operations for the assigned entities, including the general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, and payroll accounting.
Manages the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close for the entire group of subsidiary entities under III, ensuring accuracy, consistent policy application, and adherence to deadlines.
Directs accounting policies and procedures and maintains documentation to audit-ready standards across all entities.
Oversees accounts receivable and vendor billing, including intercompany billing and the shared services charges billed across the family of companies.
Drives continuous improvement of accounting systems and processes, including ERP optimization and the use of AI and emerging tools to streamline close and reporting.
Manages the multi-entity consolidation process, including intercompany eliminations, equity-method and minority-interest treatment, and the consolidated reporting package.
Directs the completion of monthly reporting packages, including income statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements, and cost-accounting profit and loss statements, under US GAAP.
Manages the annual audits, reviews, and audited and reviewed financial statements for the entities, serving as the primary point of contact for the external firm (Eide Bailly).
Prepares financial results and analysis for the CFO, entity Presidents, boards, board committees, and physician and corporate shareholders, and present in coordination with the CFO, who leads board and shareholder financial communication.
Owns the finalization and approval of annual operating and capital budgets for the assigned entities, partnering with operational leaders and the Director, Accounting.
Develops forecasts, long-range plans, and proformas that support the CFO's evaluation of acquisitions, new ventures, capital investments, and other strategic scenarios across the company.
Reviews variance analysis against budget and prior periods, helping to identify root causes, and recommend corrective action.
Builds and maintains complex financial models and scenario analyses, and translate results into decision-ready recommendations for leadership.
Manages cost accounting across the entities, including cost and profitability analysis by company, service line, and location.
Directs the development and maintenance of labor budgets and labor charges and manages the allocation of labor and shared costs among entities.
Manages the application service pricing (ASP) models in partnership with IT, ensuring shared technology and service costs are charged accurately across the family of companies.
Manages the financial mechanics of shareholder buy-ins and buy-outs, including the supporting calculations and accounting.
Supports the determination of share price, and manage notes receivable from shareholders, including amortization, interest, and balance tracking.
Coordinates valuations and appraisals of the entities, working with external valuation specialists as needed.
Manages the distribution process for shareholders and members, including calculation, documentation, and timing in coordination with the CFO.
Oversees cash management and bank reconciliations for the assigned entities, in coordination with banking partners (Banner Bank).
Oversees credit facilities, including lines of credit and equipment financing, and monitor compliance with banking covenants under each entity's credit agreements.
Manages relationships with external partners, including auditors, valuation firms, banks, and vendors, and ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
Reviews financial information and workpapers prepared by staff for external audits, income tax preparation (Eide Bailly), and regulatory or agency requests, including excise and other compliance filings.
Leads, develops, and mentors the accounting and payroll teams, ensuring staff development and continuity of operations.
Sets and reviews the work of the Director, Accounting and the Payroll Manager and their teams against professional standards.
Partners across departments and entities to develop financial strategies that support the organization's mission and goals.
Back up and supports the CFO in cross-entity initiatives and in interactions with shareholders, boards, and executive teams.
Identifies accounting issues, errors, or risks and resolve them independently or escalates with a recommended solution. This role is expected to operate with significant autonomy.
Takes on special financial projects and additional responsibilities as assigned by the CFO.
Performs other special projects and duties as assigned.

The Director, Accounting and the Payroll Manager report directly to this role, along with their respective teams. The Controller plans, directs, schedules, evaluates, and controls the assigned accounting and payroll functions; hires, trains, and develops staff; and provides analysis, recommendations, and oversight to the executive team.
