About The Position

The Corporate Communications Strategist is responsible for developing and implementing marketing communications strategies and comprehensive supporting plans to achieve executive and enterprise communication goals. They work closely with the CEO and other WoodmenLife executives and leadership to develop initiatives and materials. They are also responsible for working with organizational divisions or teams to develop communication plans and execute strategies to achieve enterprise-wide goals. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field (Communications, English, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing, etc.)
  • More than five years of experience in a similar role working with upper management
  • Knowledge of media/public relations practices, communication theory, business requirements
  • Experience in managing a communication plan including development and implementation
  • Experience with digital communication platforms (email, web, mobile, advisor portals)
  • Ability to craft effective prompts for AI systems to optimize outputs and improve efficiency in task execution
  • Familiarity with AI-powered productivity tools (e.g., Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT) and ability to leverage them for workflow automation and decision support
  • Understanding of ethical AI principles, data privacy considerations, and compliance standards to ensure responsible use of AI technologies
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to multi-task
  • Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal
  • Ability to work effectively and collaboratively in a high-performing, fast-paced environment

Nice To Haves

  • Insurance Industry or other highly regulated industry knowledge a plus
  • Familiarity with Marketing Agile principles

Responsibilities

  • Works closely with the Director, Communication & PR developing communication plans and managing the execution of approved tactics for internal and external campaigns
  • Collaborates with WoodmenLife’s President & CEO to develop executive communication for Home Office Associates, Sales Force, and other stake holders
  • Collaborates closely with other teams, departments and divisions to develop and execute communication strategies for enterprise-wide initiatives
  • Collaborates with leadership to develop and deploy sophisticated and impactful communications strategies to support the company’s mission, vision and values
  • Collaborates with other communications team members to strategize content ideas and opportunities
  • Creates, writes, and distributes content as part of approved communication plan or strategy
  • Liaises with vendors as required
  • Collaborates with other Marketing team members to ensure alignment between communications and brand strategies, as well as brand standards
  • Performs other duties as assigned by management
