About The Position

The Corporate Communications Program Manager develops and executes integrated communications initiatives that engage key stakeholders, advance Graybar’s reputation and reinforce its culture of employee ownership. In this role you will: Oversee internal and external communications programs that align with company strategy and support ongoing business transformation. Develop and execute internal communications that enhance the employee experience and facilitate organizational change. Manage the editorial strategy and production of company publications, including the Outlook, Graybar’s employee/retiree magazine since 1936. Strengthen and elevate the company’s reputation through strategic public and media relations activities, including social media, industry thought leadership, executive communications and company recognition. Support shareholder communications and engagement efforts to ensure consistency, alignment and effectiveness. Champion Graybar’s heritage and culture, integrating company history into compelling brand and corporate storytelling. Evaluate and recommend emerging technologies, channels and tools to improve company communications.

Requirements

  • 5 years of experience required
  • Understanding of media needs and relationships
  • General industry knowledge, as well as knowledge of key industry influencers
  • Knowledge of internal communications and organizational change management principles
  • Familiarity with social media management and measurement tools
  • Message and story development skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, exercise good judgment, and deal with confidential information
  • Detail oriented, thorough, and accurate
  • Creative and innovative
  • Ability to build relationships

Nice To Haves

  • 6+ years of experience preferred in communications, specifically in public relations, internal or strategic communications
  • 4-year degree in communications, journalism, business and/or liberal arts preferred
